What is a HypoSpray?
A HypoSpray® is a needle-free medication delivery system designed to administer medication through the skin using a fine, pressurized stream instead of a traditional needle. This technology delivers medication into the subcutaneous tissue (the layer of fat just beneath the skin) without the use of an exposed needle, offering a more comfortable alternative for many patients.
Many people prefer needle-free delivery because it may:
- Eliminate the need for traditional needles
- Improve comfort during administration
- Simplify self-administration at home
- Reduce anxiety associated with injections
- Provide a quick and convenient treatment experience
Your healthcare provider will determine whether a HypoSpray delivery system is appropriate for your prescribed medication.
How Does Tirzepatide HypoSpray Work?
Tirzepatide HypoSpray is a needle-free delivery option designed to administer prescribed tirzepatide into the subcutaneous tissue, where the medication is intended to be absorbed into the body similarly to a traditional subcutaneous injection.
Tirzepatide belongs to a class of medications that activates the body's GIP (glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide) and GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) receptors. These receptors play important roles in regulating appetite, digestion, and blood sugar.
When prescribed as part of a comprehensive medical weight management program, tirzepatide may help:
- Support appetite control
- Increase feelings of fullness after eating
- Slow stomach emptying
- Support healthy blood sugar regulation
- Assist with long-term weight management when combined with healthy nutrition and regular physical activity
The HypoSpray delivery system provides an alternative to a traditional needle injection while delivering the medication into the fatty tissue beneath the skin. Your healthcare provider will provide detailed instructions on proper use, dosing schedule, and administration technique.
As with all prescription medications, tirzepatide should only be used under the supervision of a licensed healthcare provider. Patients should follow all prescribed dosing instructions and attend regular follow-up appointments to monitor progress and discuss any questions or side effects.
Important Information: Tirzepatide is a prescription medication and is not appropriate for everyone. The safety and effectiveness of any specific delivery device depend on the medication formulation and the device being used. Patients should use only medications and delivery systems that have been prescribed and recommended by their healthcare provider.
